Key value factors: As self-carved and self-printed works, sosaku-hanga value is tied to the artist's reputation and edition size. Larger formats, earlier editions, and historically significant works command the highest prices.
A second version of the Pose print, this work revisits the self-conscious attitude of a woman arranging herself in the knowledge of being observed. The ポーズ (pose) in Takasawa's bijin-ga is never the unconscious stillness of a sleeping or unaware figure but the deliberate composure of a woman who has decided how to present herself — a quality that introduces a subtle tension between the figure's interiority and her performed exterior.
