Description
A twenty-seventh untitled work by Nakajima Kiyoshi. His female subjects — typically placed in outdoor settings animated by seasonal change and natural movement — are depicted with a warmth and attentiveness that gives them individual presence without the psychological complexity of his bijin-ga contemporaries. His women are defined by their relationship to the natural world around them rather than by interior psychological states, making them participants in the atmospheric drama of the composition rather than its psychological center.
