Ueno Tōshōgū sekisetsu no zu — "A picture of snow accumulation at Ueno Tōshōgū" — shows the great Tokugawa memorial shrine in Ueno Park laden with fresh snow. This composition complements the nocturnal version of the same site, offering instead a daytime snowfall view that emphasises the weight of snow on the shrine's curved roofs and the white-covered approach path through the stone lanterns. The shrine's Baroque architectural ornament — gilded carvings, crimson lacquer — provides vivid colour against the monochrome winter setting.
