Description
A large temple hall with a sweeping blue-tiled roof and latticed wooden galleries dominates the composition, set diagonally against a pale blue sky and framed by cherry blossoms in full bloom with pink petals scattered on the wind. Stone lanterns line a path in the foreground where small figures in coats (one in a red garment) walk among grazing deer on a green lawn, while dark birds wheel through the blossoming branches at right. The palette is dominated by soft pinks, blue-grey roof tiles, tan woodwork, and green foliage; the artist's seal and the title "二月堂" (Nigatsu-Do) appear at lower left, consistent with Kotozuka Eiichi's 1950 woodblock print of Nigatsu-Do in Nara.
