Description

Against a solid black ground, a bright red abstracted brush-stroke form curves down the left-center of the composition, folding back on itself like a ribbon or calligraphic character, its surface textured with fine irregular dark markings. A small solid orange-yellow circle sits within the negative space framed by the red form's upper fold. A red seal mark appears in the upper right corner and another near the lower left, both set against the black field; the print is bordered by a plain white margin. This is Poem 70-76 by Maki Haku, a woodblock print of unknown date.
