Description

An abstract composition in loose black drypoint line over patches of yellow and a single block of deep blue, set against unpainted paper. On the left a wheeled, cart-like form encloses a small seated figure rendered in a few quick strokes; on the right, sinuous coiled and looping lines suggest a serpentine or floral shape beside a dark bird-like mark in the upper corner. Diagonal ruled lines cut across the sheet, dividing the composition into irregular sections; the print is pencil-numbered 18/20 and signed and dated '64 in the lower margin. Masuo Ikeda, "Wonderful Visitor," 1964, drypoint in colors on paper.
