Description
Xu Ming's *Mountain #2* (2014), a Chinese brush painting, depicts a layered mountain landscape built from ink washes in grey, black, and green, with soft peach-orange tones on the distant peaks and rock faces. Swirling mist rendered in fine linear brushwork fills the middle ground, partly veiling a cluster of low rooftops nestled among trees on a ridge, while gnarled pine trees grow from steep rock outcrops in the foreground above a stream lined with reeds. A red seal and columns of calligraphy appear in the upper right; no human figures are shown.
