Description
Muramatsu Kihei Hidenao of the Gishi Shijushichi-zu series adds another warrior portrait to the systematic documentation. Muramatsu, one of the older members of the group, his age visible in whatever physical markers Gekko chose to assign him, brings a different quality of patience and resolution to his portrait than the younger members of the forty-seven—the settled determination of a man who has weighed his choice carefully and committed to its consequences.
