$1,000–$8,000. Common subjects: $1,000–$2,500. Key value factors: Hashimoto's bold castle prints are his most recognizable and collected works. Larger formats command premiums.
This mid-20th century rendering of Himeji Castle presents one of Japan's most photographed and celebrated architectural monuments in Hashimoto's characteristic geometric woodblock style. Known as Shirasagi-jo (White Heron Castle) for its brilliant white exterior, Himeji offered him a subject whose own architectural logic — the careful proportioning of each tier, the precise alignment of rooflines — aligned naturally with his printmaking approach. The castle's complex silhouette against sky is rendered with the meticulous attention to structural detail that defined his entire career.
