Ogaki Castle, printed in 1934, depicts the modest but historically significant castle that served as a gathering point for western daimyo before the decisive Battle of Sekigahara in 1600. As one of Hashimoto's early architectural prints, this work demonstrates his developing interest in Japan's castle heritage and his approach to documenting fortifications across the country. The castle, which was largely destroyed in the 1945 bombing of Ogaki and later rebuilt in concrete, was thus captured in its authentic condition by his pre-war visit.
