Description

"Trees Above the Sand Garden, Shôwa period, dated 1960" is a sosaku-hanga print by Okiie Hashimoto, created during the Showa. Hashimoto Okiie devoted nearly six decades to woodblock printmaking, producing architectural subjects — temples, castle towers, pagodas, farmhouses, urban streetscapes — that earned him recognition as the foremost architectural printmaker in modern Japanese art.
