Description
Two stylized female figures sit against a mustard-yellow ground patterned with rows of dark birds and small clustered forms resembling flowers or fruit. The upper figure wears a red diamond-patterned robe and raises one white-sleeved arm overhead, her hair topped with a green band; the lower figure, in a striped green and white robe, sits with head tilted and one hand raised near her face. Both faces are rendered as flat white ovals with bold black linear features, in the blocky, high-contrast graphic style typical of this woodblock print by Sadao Watanabe.
