Description
This 1968 color woodblock print by Saito Kiyoshi presents a nonrepresentational arrangement of flat rectangular and horizontal-bar shapes in black, silver-grey, brown, olive, and bright green, with a striped grey-and-black band near the top and a prominent black woodgrain panel on the right. Thin black vertical bands frame the composition, and an olive-colored lower section bears the artist's signature and a red seal. The overall effect is quiet and geometric, built from flat, evenly colored blocks rather than any depicted scene or figures.
