Description

A single haniwa figure is rendered as an abstracted, vertically bisected form—its left half in grey woodgrain-textured tones, its right half in flat rust-red—set against an off-white ground with two black mottled rectangular panels behind the shoulders. The figure's oval head has simple carved-looking eye and mouth openings and a small brimmed cap, with rounded, armless shoulders curving into a truncated torso. Titled "Haniwa (5)" and signed in pencil by Saito Kiyoshi, this woodblock print reduces the ancient clay figure to flat, graphic blocks of grey, rust, black, and cream.
