Description
A woman with long dark hair is seen in profile from behind, seated at a table and dressed in a deep red garment; she holds a lit cigarette between two fingers of her raised right hand while a stemmed glass of red wine rests on the table beside her. The composition is rendered in flat, angular shapes with heavy black outlines, set against a dark, coarsely cross-hatched gray-black background, with a spray of pale gray leaves in the upper right corner. Saito Kiyoshi made this woodblock print, titled Resting, Paris, in 1960 during the Shôwa period.
