Description

Two zebras with a black horse or bull stand beneath overlapping crescent and full-moon forms rendered in cream, ochre, and tan, with a small solid orange-red sun disc in the upper left corner against a mottled dark brown ground. The zebras' black-and-white striped bodies are outlined with flame-like, jagged manes and tails, one animal raising a foreleg, while the third figure at right is rendered as a solid black silhouette with pale patches on its flank and matching spiked mane. *East Wind / Moon Wind (Tôhô no kaze / Tsuki kaze)*, a woodblock print by Tadashi Nakayama, Shôwa period, dated 1959.
