Description
An abstract composition of small rectangular and trapezoidal collaged paper fragments arranged to form a glowing crescent-shaped arc against a muted grey-brown ground; the arc's fragments shift through pale yellow, coral, teal, and soft blue tones that brighten toward a luminous white-gold center. The surrounding pieces are cut in irregular, angular shapes suggesting a fractured or faceted surface, with the overall effect of a radiant curved band of light emerging from a shadowed field. Takuji Hamanaka's *Crescent* (2017) is a collaged woodcut on museum board.
