Description
A village nested within mountain terrain — the fourth study in what appears to be a series of mountain village compositions. Japan's mountainous interior shelters numerous small communities where traditional architecture adapted to steep terrain, heavy snowfall, and dense forest cover. Tanaka's sustained investigation of these settings, documented across multiple numbered works, reflects his interest in the regional variations of vernacular building tradition across the Japanese landscape.
