Description

A monochrome print in muted grey and beige tones showing a cluster of wooden houses with tiled and shingled gabled roofs, densely packed behind a massive foreground wall of rounded, stacked stones rendered in fine crosshatched detail. A tall wooden utility pole with a crossbar rises at center among bare trees, with a small tower or chimney structure visible in the middle distance under a plain, unshaded sky. The composition is tightly cropped and textural, with no human figures present; the sheet is pencil-signed "T. Ryohei" and numbered 8/3/100 in the lower margins. Woodblock print, Tanaka Ryohei, Shôwa period, circa 1970s.
