Description
A halftone portrait of a bespectacled man in glasses and a dark jacket, rendered in black and yellow on a torn, irregularly shaped fragment, dominates the sheet; gray cord or rope crisscrosses the image in a tangled web and gathers at the bottom into a knotted red paper tag. The torn photo-fragment sits on a plain white ground printed with a mock label bearing handwritten fields for date, medium, title, edition, and name, giving the sheet the look of an inventory or shipping tag. Taniguchi Shigeru, "Captured Christ," 1979, silkscreen with 4 plates (4 colors).
