Koitsu's daytime landscapes and non-nocturnal scenes are less common on the primary market but still reflect his mastery of atmosphere and color. Values have risen steadily over the past decade.
Kangetsu Bridge — "Moon-viewing Bridge" — appears in Koitsu's work as an intimate garden span, its arching form reflected in the still water beneath it and ideally positioned for the contemplation of a moon rising above the trees. The bridge's name encapsulates the aesthetic program of Japanese garden design, which arranges stone, water, and plantings to frame the natural world as a series of composed views. Koitsu's [bokashi](/glossary/bokashi) sky above the bridge captures the twilight moment when moongazing was at its most rewarding.
