Koitsu's daytime landscapes and non-nocturnal scenes are less common on the primary market but still reflect his mastery of atmosphere and color. Values have risen steadily over the past decade.
Morigasaki was a coastal promontory near Kawasaki on Tokyo Bay, its rocky shore facing the open water with views across to the Boso Peninsula. Koitsu renders the coast in its early mature style — around 1928–1930 — with breaking waves against dark rocks, the white foam and spray contrasting with the deep water beyond. The sea imagery at Morigasaki allowed Koitsu to explore the dynamic energy of coastal weather, a subject that called for a different kind of atmospheric tension than his temple and lake scenes.
