$500–$8,000. Common later works: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: His enormous output (lived to 102) means most works are accessible. Early black-and-white prints are most valued.
In this enigmatic print, Hiratsuka evokes an ethereal interior space — a dreaming room presided over by an angelic presence. The figure floats in a compressed architectural surround, the carving loose and expressionistic compared to his more disciplined temple prints. Made during his Washington years, it suggests the spiritual and symbolic territory he explored alongside his documentary subjects.
