$500–$8,000. Common later works: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: His enormous output (lived to 102) means most works are accessible. Early black-and-white prints are most valued.
A window in a Georgetown townhouse — its colonial-era wooden frame and glass panes rendered with Hiratsuka's direct line — becomes the entire subject of this late Washington print. The window motif inverts his usual interest in exteriors, finding in this domestic threshold the same formal interest he brought to temple gateways. Made in his eighties, it demonstrates his sustained attention to architecture at every scale.
