Kagogahana is a cape on the Mihonoseki Peninsula east of Matsue — the coastline of Hiratsuka's home region in Shimane Prefecture. This 1927 color woodblock renders the cape's rocky coast with unusual warmth, the color suggesting the afternoon light of the Sanin coast. The work belongs to his series of Shimane landscapes made during visits back to his birthplace region.
