Description

A three-panel horizontal composition in muted black, grey, cream, and ochre, divided by two vertical seams into left, center, and right sections. Dense fields of etched linear marks and speckled dots suggest tall grasses or reeds across the upper portion, above a dark, almost solid black band at lower left and a grid of grey-brown checkered squares at lower center; abstract fragments of text-like markings, small geometric shapes, and patches of pink and copper tones appear at the corners and lower right. Untitled figures or representational forms are absent, giving the etching and chine collé an abstract, textural mood; the work is Yoshio Imamura's *Arabesque*, 2015.
