Description
Treasuring Autumn, a 2017 etching/woodblock by Yoshio Imamura, depicts an arched basket overflowing with autumn plants — feathery grasses, ivy-like leaves, and small clustered flowers in white, blue, purple, orange, and pink. Above the basket, a large dark brown leaf with pale linear veining and speckled circular markings arcs across the upper portion of the composition, its curling silvery grass stems radiating outward. The palette is muted (buff, sepia, and black) against the cream paper, with only the small flower clusters providing concentrated color; the artist's pencil signature and annotations appear along the bottom margin.
