Description
A lit stone or wooden lantern stands on a post at the edge of a still pond, its glowing window reflected in the water alongside the drooping fronds of a willow tree that fills the right side of the composition. In the misty background, the silhouette of a multi-tiered pagoda rises above a line of trees, rendered in soft blue-green tones against a pale yellow sky. The overall palette shifts from warm yellow at the horizon to cool blue-green in the foreground, giving the scene a quiet, hazy, twilight mood.
