Description
Mount Fuji 11 brings Fujita's abstract woodblock language to Japan's iconic mountain, producing a treatment that differs fundamentally from both the descriptive naturalism of Hiroshige and the graphic boldness of artists like Kaneko. Fujita's Fuji is likely rendered through his characteristic formal vocabulary: the mountain as shape, its relationship to surrounding landscape elements treated abstractly, color used expressively rather than descriptively.
