Description
A stylized view of Mount Fuji rendered in dark indigo-blue tones, its peak wreathed in a cloud form near the top of the composition, set against a sky filled with a dense scatter of small white and pale flecks suggesting falling sleet. Rolling foreground hills in mottled brown and ochre lead the eye back to the mountain, with a low band of dark rooftops or trees along the middle distance. Woodblock print, "Mizore kuru みぞれ来る (Sleet Arrives)" from the series Sanju-roku Fuji 三十六富士 (Thirty-Six Fujis) by Hideo Hagiwara.
