A twelfth untitled print by Hirezaki Eiho (1881–1968) from his extensive [bijin-ga](/glossary/bijin-ga) practice. Eiho's output spans more than half a century of Japanese printmaking, and his work appeared in both traditional woodblock format and, occasionally, lithograph — reflecting his adaptability to changing technologies and markets while maintaining the essential sensibility of the bijin-ga master: an eye for the details of feminine appearance and an interest in the emotional interior that those details can be made to reveal.
