From Yoshida's later career (1935–1950), these prints show his technical mastery at full maturity. Later-decade prints slightly trail peak-period 1920s works at auction, but jizuri impressions of desirable subjects still command strong prices. Standard jizuri Japanese landscapes follow the dealer benchmark of approximately $2,149; Sacred Bridge, Nikko (1937) sold for $800 at Schmidt's Antiques for a pencil-signed example.
"Hokuryo" (North Ridge or Northern Peak) is likely an alpine subject from Yoshida's extensive Japan Alps work, the 1937 date placing it in his late period of landscape production. The compositional focus on a ridge or summit in the northern sector of one of Japan's major ranges would have been familiar territory — Yoshida had climbed and sketched extensively in the Japan Alps over four decades. The print demonstrates his continued engagement with high-mountain subjects through his sixties.
