From Yoshida's later career (1935–1950), these prints show his technical mastery at full maturity. Later-decade prints slightly trail peak-period 1920s works at auction, but jizuri impressions of desirable subjects still command strong prices. Standard jizuri Japanese landscapes follow the dealer benchmark of approximately $2,149; Sacred Bridge, Nikko (1937) sold for $800 at Schmidt's Antiques for a pencil-signed example.
Sanko Island, from Yoshida's 1941 wartime period, depicts a small island rendered with the atmospheric restraint that characterizes his mature coastal work. The Seto Inland Sea offered dozens of such modest islands, each with its own silhouette and character, and Yoshida returned to the region throughout his career. Even during the disruptions of the Pacific War years, he continued printing, finding in the quiet geometry of islands and water a subject that transcended the political upheaval of the moment.
