$200–$2,000. Common Kyoto views: $200–$600. Key value factors: Ito Nisaburo's Kyoto prints are popular and accessible. Night scenes, snow views, and cherry blossom compositions command premiums.
Kyoto Shijo — the Shijo corridor, one of Kyoto's principal east-west streets, running from Karasuma in the commercial center to the Gion geisha district and the Kamo River beyond. Nisaburo's depiction of this urban artery captures the particular character of Shijo in the mid-20th century, when traditional machiya facades still lined much of the street and the Gion end preserved the atmosphere of the entertainment district in its pre-war character. The print serves as both urban document and aesthetic observation.
