Description

A two-story storehouse with a projecting tiled roof and white walls patterned in a diagonal grey lattice (namako-style tile joints); the upper floor has two shuttered windows framed in reddish-brown wood, and the ground floor shows a wooden door beside a section of vertical slatted grille in matching reddish-brown. Grey ceramic roof tiles with white ridge capping run across the composition, and a taller tiled gable rises at the building's corner against a plain tan background. Jun'ichiro Sekino's woodblock print "Numazu: Latticework Tile Wall" (date unknown) renders the scene in a flat, graphic palette of white, grey, tan, and reddish-brown.
