Description
A winter woodblock that achieves its atmosphere through restraint: the palette reduced to the greys and whites of a cold day, the landscape simplified to its essential geometry, the human presence (if present at all) reduced to a small figure or an empty road. Sekino's winter subjects test how much color can be removed before a composition loses its capacity to communicate temperature, isolation, and the particular beauty of the colorless season.
