A second impression or variant of Hasui's Nishi Park (西公園) composition in Fukuoka, this print depicts the hilltop park overlooking Hakata Bay and the Genkai Sea. Nishi Park is particularly associated with cherry blossoms in spring, and Hasui's treatment may differ from related versions in the density of flowering branches, the positioning of figures beneath the trees, or the color treatment of the bay below. Shin-hanga publishers occasionally issued multiple states of popular meisho-e subjects, with carvers revising blocks to adjust foliage detail or sky tone between runs. The park's elevated position would have allowed Hasui to construct a composition with a strong foreground of blossoms descending to a wide panoramic middle ground of sea and distant islands.
