$200–$2,000. Snow and night scenes tend to command premium prices for this artist. Key value factors: Kotozuka's Kyoto prints are popular and affordable. Seasonal temple scenes and garden views are most sought after.
Kiyamachi Street runs along the Takase Canal in central Kyoto — a narrow, atmospheric waterway lined with restaurants and old buildings that retains much of the traditional city's character. An evening snowfall transforms this already picturesque scene into something more otherworldly: the snow softening the canal's reflections, the lantern light of the establishments along the street creating pools of warm color in the white-cold atmosphere. Kotozuka's treatment of this urban winter night scene is among his most evocative.
