Description
The Four Seasons of Nikko — depicted as a complete set of prints — documents the seasonal transformation of Nikko's extraordinary landscape: the elaborate Toshogu shrine complex surrounded by cryptomeria forests and mountain rivers, each season rendering the site in a fundamentally different atmospheric key. Spring brings cherry blossoms and fresh green; summer, deep forest shade; autumn, the famous red maple contrast with the cedar; and winter, snow-laden branches and frozen silence. Kotozuka's set captures all four states of this sacred mountain landscape.
