Description

The print is divided into three horizontal bands: at top, a bold pattern of red roses with green leaves against cream, each blossom stamped with the word "Rose"; in the middle, a red-soled high-heeled pump rendered in profile and covered in a pink rose-patterned fabric with black outlines; and at the bottom, a reclining nude female figure sketched in fine black line, her torso overlaid with a yellow floral motif, set against a plain cream ground. The palette is limited to red, green, black, cream, and yellow, and the composition stacks these three distinct image-and-text registers directly on top of one another without transition. Signed "Ikeda" and dated '66 in pencil at lower right, with an edition number at lower left.
