$1,000–$8,000. Common subjects: $1,000–$2,500. Key value factors: Hashimoto's bold castle prints are his most recognizable and collected works. Larger formats command premiums.
Mountain and Lake, printed in 1969 using ink and color on paper, presents a mountain reflection in still water — one of the most enduring compositional subjects in East Asian landscape painting and printmaking. Hashimoto's geometric approach to the mountain form — its faces reduced to planes of color, its outline to a precise silhouette — creates a formal echo when reflected in the lake surface below. The mirror relationship between the actual mountain and its reflection allowed him to explore the abstract possibilities of the landscape subject.
