Description
A snarling shishi-guchi mask with a lined brow, bared fangs, and gold-flecked eyes emerges from a mane of shaggy red hair rendered in fine linear strokes against the gold ground; a dark patch of fabric or shadow shows at the throat, and a black panel with a red circular motif fills the upper right corner. The palette is limited to red, black, and the gold of the paper itself, giving the composition a fierce, stylized intensity.
