Description
Mount Fuji is reimagined as a cone of shaved ice, its cone-shaped bulk rendered in red with white syrup streaking down the slopes like the mountain's characteristic snowfields, and a metal spoon digs into the peak from the left, scooping out a red-stained bite. The ice cone sits in a pale bowl or dish at the base, against a deep indigo sky filled with horizontal bands of pale blue clouds echoing traditional wave/cloud patterns. Shoji Miyamoto's 2011 water-based woodcut on Japanese paper renders the scene in flat, saturated color fields with crisp outlines.
