牛堀の夕
Shotei produced a wide range of subjects throughout his career under publishers Watanabe and Daikokuya. Signed, sealed lifetime editions consistently outperform unsigned export-market copies.
The sun sets over the water at Ushibori, casting warm golden light across the calm surface. Sailing boats are silhouetted against the glowing sky, their masts and rigging creating a delicate graphic pattern. The graduated tones of the sunset sky, from warm gold at the horizon to cool blue overhead, demonstrate the printer''s skill in creating seamless color transitions.
