$1,000–$15,000. Reproductions and common prints: $1,000–$3,000. Key value factors: Yumeji's popular image means many reproductions exist. Original prints are scarcer and more valued.
Tsujido no Fuji — "辻堂の富士," Mount Fuji as seen from Tsujido on the Shonan coast — is depicted in this Yumeji landscape, the mountain glimpsed from the beach or the edge of the coastal town where the pine trees of Shonan frame the mountain's familiar cone. Yumeji's Fuji prints are fewer and different in character from his bijin work, but they share the same atmospheric sensitivity — Fuji here is a presence felt at the periphery of experience, a vast form occupying the horizon of a scene whose foreground belongs to the immediate, human world.
