"Delighted" (Ureshiso) is a print from the celebrated series "Thirty-two Aspects of Women" (Fuzoku sanjuniso), published in 1888. The series presents women from different historical eras and social classes, each identified by a single emotional or behavioral state. Here, a woman radiates unguarded happiness—a rare expression of open joy in Yoshitoshi's typically more introspective female portraits.
