$500–$5,000. Common mountain prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Azechi's cheerful mountain prints have consistent demand. Larger and more complex compositions are most valued.
A Volcanic Mountain refers to the specific geological character of much of Japan's alpine terrain—the country's mountains are products of volcanic activity, many of them technically active, their forms shaped by eruptions and their landscapes stained with sulfurous deposits. Azechi's volcanic mountain would have distinctive colors and forms compared to the more typically alpine peaks: ochres and greys rather than pure white and grey-blue, the mountain's living geological nature evident in the surface of the print.
