Description
A stylized, semi-abstract figure rendered in flat geometric blocks of mustard yellow, brown, and grey against a black background, the body built from angular interlocking shapes with a coiled, rope-like dark form winding down one side. A small white bird with a dark head perches beside the figure's shoulder, and jagged white triangular shapes suggesting rocks or snow appear near the feet. *Friend of the Mountain*, a 1956 woodblock print by Umetaro Azechi, uses this bold, faceted composition with no shading or linear perspective.
