Description
A tall, abstracted bird form fills the vertical composition, its round head marked by a single dark oval eye and a large fan of radiating dark spikes suggesting feathers or a crest. The body descends in overlapping curved planes rendered mostly in dark indigo and slate blue-gray, broken by a central white panel filled with a dense black cross-hatched grid pattern, with two black oval shapes flanking the lower body and thin white legs at the base. Umetaro Azechi's 1960 woodblock print, in ink and color on paper, is pencil-inscribed in the lower margin with a title/edition notation and numbering, and shows toned, deckle-edged paper margins with a small red circular collector's seal at lower left.
