Description
*Snowy Valley* (1959) sets a large stylized black head, marked with a maroon diamond "eye," crescent brow, and downturned mouth, against a jagged blue-grey mountain range and pale sky. Below the face, a string of round maroon beads crosses the neck, and to the left a light grey-white cleft or ravine cuts vertically down the dark slope. The palette is limited to indigo-blue, slate-grey, cream, and deep maroon-red; the print is pencil-signed "W. AZECHI," dated "59," and numbered 2/12 in the lower margin.
